For good advice, select your Professional Advisors with care!

Getting good business advice can mean the difference between success and failure. Here we will provide you with the types of advisors you will need and what to look for in them.

 Professional Advisers

This term includes several professions but, for the purpose of this section of BusinessBasics.co.uk, we mean accountants and solicitors.

Choosing and using professional advisers is an area of activity that can faze and confuse most normal people. However, all entrepreneurs will need legal and financial advice from time to time. Sometimes predictably, as when having the annual audit, or sometimes unexpectedly when, for example, a contractual dispute arises with a supplier or customer.

The difficulty for the first-time user is that there is a huge choice of accountants and solicitors and little to help us decide who will be best. As with most things in life, there are good, bad and indifferent out there, so you need to be selective about who you will trust to help you.

On the next page, we explain how to make that important choice.
